Resumen
Este estudio traza las raíces históricas y culturales de las relaciones entre Marruecos y América Latina y, sobre todo, sus vínculos literarios. Frente a la tentación de dar por supuesta una hermandad natural entre ambas orillas, el trabajo adopta una perspectiva crítica y sostiene que ese relato de fraternidad es, en buena medida, una construcción discursiva de origen colonial, forjada por el africanismo español y reapropiada después por el Marruecos independiente, que aun así ha generado instituciones, traducciones y afectos verificables. El recorrido parte de los contactos comerciales y diplomáticos que van del siglo XVI al reinado de Mohammed VI y examina después la herencia árabe-andalusí compartida en la arquitectura, la gastronomía, la música y la lengua. El núcleo del trabajo se detiene en la presencia de Marruecos en la literatura hispanoamericana, en la escritura de la diáspora árabe y judeo-marroquí en el continente, y en las vías de traducción y diplomacia cultural que hoy acercan ambas orillas, no sin tensiones ni olvidos. El análisis se apoya en un marco teórico que sitúa la relación dentro de las categorías básicas de actores y factores de las relaciones internacionales y la articula con la crítica poscolonial del discurso de hermandad hispano-árabe, la cartografía transhispánica y el orientalismo horizontal.

Abstract
This study traces the historical and cultural roots of the relationship between Morocco and Latin America, with particular attention to their literary connections. Rather than assuming a natural brotherhood between the two shores, the article takes a critical stance and argues that this narrative of fraternity is largely a discursive construction of colonial origin, forged by Spanish Africanism and later reappropriated by independent Morocco, though one that has nonetheless produced verifiable institutions, translations, and affective ties. The study begins with the commercial and diplomatic contacts stretching from the sixteenth century to the reign of Mohammed VI, and then examines the shared Arab-Andalusi heritage in architecture, gastronomy, music, and language. Its core addresses Morocco's presence in Spanish American literature, the writing of the Arab and Judeo-Moroccan diaspora on the continent, and the channels of translation and cultural diplomacy that today bring the two shores closer together, not without tensions and omissions. The analysis draws on a theoretical framework that situates the relationship within the basic international-relations categories of actors and factors, and articulates them with postcolonial critique of the Hispano-Arab brotherhood discourse, transhispanic cartography, and horizontal orientalism.
